Usna is currently articling at Brownlee LLP, with a strong interest in insurance litigation. He’s drawn to advocacy and enjoys the challenges of working in a courtroom setting. He’s also curious to explore more of municipal and commercial law, especially given Brownlee’s strong municipal practice and his interest in how law and business intersect.
He values the client-focused side of legal work—building trust, solving problems, and helping people navigate complex issues.
The constantly evolving nature of legal practice is something he finds genuinely motivating.
Outside of work, Usna is passionate about mental health awareness. For the past three years, he’s run in the BMO Vancouver Marathon, raising funds for the Canadian Mental Health Association. He sees regular exercise as one of the best tools for maintaining mental well-being.
Usna is a lifelong soccer fan and has developed a strong love for the outdoors. He spends his free time running, swimming, biking, snowboarding, and hiking—often with his big dog by his side. He’s also a dedicated car enthusiast, especially when it comes to Porsche.
As an Articling Student, Usna gets hands-on experience in all our practice areas, helping him build and sharpen the practical skills needed to become a lawyer.

WHY LAW
- I thoroughly enjoy the problem solving aspect. I find it very enjoyable learning and grappling with the law to hone my expertise and ultimately become a great lawyer.
- I am also intrigued and excited by the advocating side of the law.
- The collaborative (teamship) aspect of law, in working with people and doing the best for your clients, is a major reason why I choose law.
