Tom began working at Brownlee as a summer student in 2010, later completing his articles with the firm in 2013. He worked as an associate in the insurance litigation group until 2015. He then worked in the litigation group for a global firm until he returned to Brownlee in 2018.
Tom’s love of critical thinking adds to his expertise in litigation, ranging from personal injury to complex commercial and construction claims, as well as
proficiency in drafting contractual documents, and risk management assessments. He has appeared as counsel before the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, the Small Claims Court of Yukon, and the Supreme Court of Yukon. Additionally, he handled cases in the jurisdiction of the Federal Court of Canada, and in front of an administrative tribunal.
Tom currently volunteers with The Queen’s Bench Amicus Program and in the past, the Edmonton Community Legal Centre ( Civil). When he isn’t cheering for the Edmonton Oilers or Denver Broncos, he lends his skills volunteering as a coach for soccer and basketball teams, and enjoys working out, running, and hiking.
