CONNECT WITH ME
Stephen attended law school at the University of Alberta and is currently working at Brownlee LLP as an Articling Student. He has previous experience with Brownlee, having held a summer student position with the firm in 2022.
Before law school, Stephen completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Planning with distinction from the University of Alberta. He worked as an Urban Planner in the Edmonton region, handling tasks such as approving development permits and facilitating statutory plan applications.
He has also served on municipal bodies, including a Subdivision and Development Appeal Board and a Ward Boundary Commission.
Stephen is an active member and former Chair of Paths for People, a non-profit organization based in Edmonton that advocates for safer and more livable streets for walking, rolling, and biking. He is very active on Strava and loves to go on long runs.
Stephen commutes year-round on his bike and appreciates the many bike paths in Edmonton and its river valley. Additionally, he is an improvisor with Rapid Fire Theatre in Edmonton and enjoys making people laugh.
As an Articling Student, Stephen gets hands-on experience in all our practice areas, helping him build and sharpen the practical skills needed to become a lawyer.

The law is everywhere. I enjoy helping people understand how it impacts themselves as well as their communities. Having previously worked for a municipality, I find it meaningful to help those on the frontline navigate legal requirements and considerations.
