Michael Thorne has a general commercial litigation practice with an emphasis on construction, personal injury, and insurance law, including as it relates to bad faith advice and first party coverage disputes. He has represented clients in mediations, appeared before the Alberta Provincial Court and has assisted with matters before the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench and Alberta Court of Appeal.
Michael interned as a law student with Bennett Jones throughout law school and articled with the firm before joining Brownlee LLP as an associate. Outside of his litigation practice at Brownlee LLP, Michael has also volunteered with the legal community by coaching and judging several moot competitions.
Michael has an honours degree in philosophy and his hobbies include mixed martial arts, weight lifting, hockey and golf.
