Julia Pratt returned to article at Brownlee LLP in 2020 after previously summering at the firm in 2018.
Passionate about learning and professional development, Julia is excited about the prospects of learning from the new challenges and opportunities that practicing law can provide.
“I loved the advocacy experience I had in law school, and would be excited to put that into practice,” she said. “The people at Brownlee are smart, competent, and kind. I wanted to learn from the best, and I feel fortunate to have that opportunity at Brownlee.
While studying law at the University of Alberta J.D. program, she competed in the Davies corporate/commercial moot in Toronto, and was a writing fellow for the Legal Research and Writing class.
Her previous volunteer work includes serving on a committee for the Women’s Law Forum that fundraised for Kindred House. The committee also hosted a speaker series focused on discussing the future of sex work in Canada. She also interned on the board of directors for the Citadel Theatre.
Julia was a competitive dancer for 14 years and was also a member of the University of Alberta Panda Bearristers rugby team. In addition, she enjoys travelling, running, seeing theatre productions, and watching Jeopardy!
