Inderpal is a litigation lawyer with experience in criminal defence, insurance defence (ICBC), and plaintiff-side employment law. At Brownlee LLP, his practice now focuses on insurance defence on a broader scale, beyond just motor vehicle claims.
He started his legal career in criminal defence, articling at a prominent defence firm in 2019 and being called to the Bar shortly after.
In 2020, he joined Basra Law Group, where he built a strong ICBC defence practice and continued to carry a criminal case load.
He has appeared regularly in both Supreme and Provincial Court, conducting trials, chambers applications, bail hearings, and sentencing.
Inderpal has handled a wide range of cases, including Kala v. Bahr, 2024 BCSC 192, and Latham v. Latham, 2024 BCSC 171—both personal injury cases involving credibility and causation issues.
In addition to his courtroom work, Inderpal has represented employees in employment disputes, including wrongful dismissal claims.
Outside of law, Inderpal is active in the Punjabi music community. He plays the Sarangi and Dhol, and his sarangi recordings have been featured in Bhangra and Punjabi folk tracks. He performs regularly at cultural events across Metro Vancouver, including at Rogers Arena and the Vancouver Convention Centre—most recently at a Vancouver Canucks game.
