Faiza joined Brownlee’s Litigation team in Feburary 2025. Prior to joining Brownlee, Faiza gained international experience as a Junior Consultant at the United Nations Migration Office in San Jose, Costa Rica. She also articled at a boutique oil and gas firm from 2023 to 2024, where she developed strong skills in commercial litigation.

One of her notable career highlights includes working on the Reference re Impact Assessment Act, 2023 SCC 23, a key Supreme Court case in environmental law, which helped broaden her litigation experience.

Faiza is passionate about community involvement. She served on the LSAC Advisory Committee, advocating for better access to the LSAT and the legal profession for marginalized communities. She also volunteers with the United Way of Calgary and Amicus.

Faiza earned her BA in Human Rights from the University of Winnipeg (2015-2019) and her JD from the University of Calgary (2020-2023). She was called to the Bar in Alberta in 2024. 

Faiza is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Association of Women Lawyers.

Outside of work, Faiza enjoys Lagree fitness, backpacking, and reading history books, which help her unwind and fuel her curiosity.
