Anisa joined Brownlee’s Insurance Litigation group, bringing a strong interest in civil litigation and diverse legal experience. Born and raised in Toronto, she began her legal career at a boutique law firm in the city, practicing family and immigration law for before transitioning to civil litigation with a focus on personal injury and medical malpractice matters in Edmonton. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2017 and the Alberta Bar in 2022.
From a young age, Anisa was drawn to the legal profession because she saw the powerful impact that dedicated advocacy can have on people’s lives. Recognizing early on that not everyone has equal access to quality representation, she aspired to help bridge that gap. Law also appealed to her because it aligns with her strengths as a problem solver who enjoys analyzing complex situations, thinking critically, and finding practical solutions.
Outside of work, Anisa is a passionate community volunteer who currently serves on the 2025 Inspire & Awaken Advisory Board and is a regular volunteer at local community events. In her free time, Anisa enjoys trying new cafés and restaurants, especially those with good matcha lattes. She enjoys travelling and often travels to Toronto to see family and friends. She also likes hiking, yoga, and planning events.
