Ama’s journey with Brownlee began in the summer of 2022 when she joined the firm as a student. Alongside her legal work, she actively volunteers with the University of Alberta’s Black Law Students’ Association as an alumni member and serves as a cantor at both St. Joseph’s Basilica and St. Albert Parish.
Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, Ama is a Red Seal chef who enjoys experimenting with new recipes, particularly in baking. Each Remembrance Day, she crafts a lifelike, three-dimensional sugar flower cake.
Ama has a love for music, attends the symphony regularly, and is working on getting back to playing the piano. She’s also interested in musical theatre.
As an Articling Student, Ama gets hands-on experience in all our practice areas, helping her build and sharpen the practical skills needed to become a lawyer.

WHY LAW
The law touches our lives in so many conscious and unconscious ways. Navigating some of its components is a challenging yet rewarding experience that is constantly evolving. I love that the practice of law helps others to better situate themselves in that world order. With a love for debate and problem-solving, I find the study and practice of law simply fascinating.
