Laura earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta after spending her first year of law school at the University of Saskatchewan. Actively involved wherever she goes, during law school Laura was the Managing Editor for the Centre for Constitutional Studies’ Seven/Fifty academic blog, volunteered with the Indigenous Law Students’ Association, Student Legal Services (Criminal Project), and the Law Students’ Association, and was a fellow with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association’s education trust.
Laura excelled in mooting and further developed this skill during her articles, leading her to focus her practice on litigation. She has developed experience in insurance litigation, an area that permits her to be engaged with people navigating a variety of areas of the law.
Outside of the office, Laura actively connects with multiple communities. She plays offensive and defensive line with the Edmonton Arctic Pride, Edmonton’s women’s tackle football team, and was selected as Team Alberta’s defensive Captain in 2020. Her combined loves of football and rules led her to don the stripes with the Edmonton Football Officials’ Association in 2023. She was awarded EFOA’s Rookie of the Year in 2023, selected to referee in Football Canada’s inaugural national Indigenous football tournament in 2024, and in 2025 she refereed Football Canada’s U18 women’s tournament, during which she was selected as one of the crew members for the gold medal game.
When Laura isn’t on the football field, you’ll find her playing tabletop role playing games with friends or curled up with her cats, a good book, and a strong cup of tea.

WHY LAW
To quote from the record at my bar call: "Quite simply, in the love I have the privilege of sharing with others." I strongly value my communities and am committed to ensuring that the legal system is accessible to those it serves.
