Michael Thorne has a general commercial litigation practice with an emphasis on construction, product liability, and insurance law, especially as it relates to bad faith advice and first party coverage disputes. He has represented clients in mediations,
pre-trial conferences, the Alberta Provincial Court and Court of Queen’s Bench and has assisted with matters before the Alberta Court of Appeal.
Michael interned as a law student with Bennett Jones throughout law school and articled with the firm
before joining Brownlee as an associate.
Michael has an honours degree in philosophy and his hobbies include mixed martial arts, weight lifting, hockey and golf.
