CONNECT WITH ME
Marny Paul is a senior municipal lawyer in the firm’s Calgary office whose practice areas are focused on real estate and development, infrastructure and utilities, expropriation, governance and administration.
Marny was born in Edmonton and raised in a very small town in the southern interior of British Columbia. Marny graduated from the University of Calgary in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and graduated from the University of Alberta in 2011 with a law degree (JD). Marny was a summer student with Brownlee LLP in Calgary for two summers and in 2011 she joined the firm as an Articling Student. Marny was called to the bar in Alberta in 2012.
Although Marny’s family thought she would become an engineer because of her aptitude for math, Marny chose to become a lawyer because she wanted a career that would allow her to use and develop her analytical and writing skills in a challenging and stimulating environment. She also enjoys working with people and she valued that the skills she developed in law school could be used to help others resolve their legal issues and understand their rights.
Marny plans to continue her career for the long term with Brownlee not only because of the great partners and associates that she has had the opportunity to learn from, but also because of Brownlee’s team approach to addressing client’s needs.
Under this approach, clients know that no matter who they contact at Brownlee, they will ultimately be connected with a lawyer who is best able to address their legal needs. Marny hopes to continue to develop and strengthen her relationship with existing clients as well as build new relationships.
In her spare time, Marny enjoys spending time with her husband and two small children as well as running and maintaining her fitness.
