Gregory is committed to representing municipalities in Alberta and advocating on their behalf.
Gregory practices primarily in the areas of Municipal and Administrative Law and in particular in the areas of Tax Recovery, Assessment and Taxation, Municipal Bylaw and Safety Codes Act Enforcement, Development Agreement Enforcement, Privacy and Access to Information and Utility Regulation.
Prior to joining the firm as an associate in October of 2013, Gregory articled at the Court of Appeal of Alberta in Edmonton before completing his articles at Brownlee LLP.
Gregory has successfully represented clients before all levels of Court in Alberta in respect to a variety of proceedings including civil and injunction actions, statutory appeals and judicial reviews.
He has also appeared before several administrative tribunals including the Municipal Government Board, various Subdivision and Development Appeal Boards and the Alberta Utilities Commission.
Gregory has also participated in arbitration proceedings regarding contractual disputes before both single arbitrators and multi-member arbitral panels.
He has assisted Alberta municipalities in recovering various types of tax arrears, and has acted on behalf of municipalities in recovering tax arrears through all types of personal and commercial insolvencies. He has also assisted municipalities in respect to various assessment issues, and has successfully defended municipal assessments from assessment complaints and subsequent court challenges.
Gregory also frequently assists municipalities with the enforcement of development agreements through utilizing both civil and regulatory enforcement mechanisms.
