Jason began his legal career serving as a police officer with the Edmonton Police Service for 17 years.  His time was spent exclusively in front-line operations.  Jason was a uniformed Constable and Sergeant.  He also worked as a Detective in the Child Protection Unit and Downtown Criminal Investigations Section.  During this time, Jason became an expert in interview and interrogation techniques and major case investigative procedures.  Jason was also a certified incident commander with extensive field experience.

He is a proven operational leader proficient in risk and process management.

Career highlights include being the Detective in-charge of the Occupy Edmonton protests in 2011-2012, the On-Scene Commander for the Hub Mall robbery-homicide in 2012 and the On-scene Commander for the homicide of Constable Woodall in 2015.

Jason came to Brownlee LLP in 2017 as an articling student.  In 2018, he accepted a position in

the Litigation department.

Jason’s experience is diverse, allowing him to provide advice on a variety of issues.  In addition to litigation work, he has a practice dedicated to all aspects of Sports law.

Jason is an avid runner and enjoys exploring new trails throughout Alberta.  He volunteers his time coaching youth baseball and hockey.
