Brownlee lawyer Jesse Stanich applies his experience and knowledge from working and studying in the healthcare sector to his career in law. He studied psychology and neuroscience for the majority of his undergraduate degree, and completed his honours thesis on mindfulness meditation and its associated neural mechanisms.

He became a published researcher while working for Alberta Health Services in 2020.

His foremost interest in law is in litigation – something our lawyers know a thing or two about. “Brownlee has an excellent team of litigators with a wealth of experience,” Jesse said.

He eventually wants to be in the role of a mentor again, as he enjoyed teaching others. While studying his undergrad at the University of Calgary, he mentored a first-year student who went on to attend medical school, and coordinated other charitable efforts on campus.

Outside of practicing law, Jesse is an accomplished singer. He has sung mass at the Vatican, performed in two operas and musicals, and sung “O Canada” at previous Canada Day celebrations hosted by the City of Calgary.

As an avid sports fan, Jesse currently powerlifts and enjoys watching Formula 1 racing. In high school, he was on the St. Mary Catholic School football team that won the 2011 city championship in Calgary.

WHY  LAW

I love the fact that law intersects many disciplines, as someone who struggled in finding what I wanted to do for my career, I liked how law touches on almost every aspect of things I am interested in.
