Janine joined the Brownlee LLP Corporate/Commercial Litigation department in 2016. She decided to join Brownlee based on our commitment to our clients and the opportunities for growth and learning. Coming from a diverse background, Janine is able to assess
legal issues from many different angles. Outside of work, Janine volunteers at the Edmonton Community Legal Centre offering pro bono advice to those who may otherwise be unable to afford it. She enjoys
spending time with family and friends and advises first year law students to “take your time in law school to build and hone your research skills as this will prove to be an invaluable asset as you enter the legal profession.”

I chose law because it is a profession that allows me to assist those who are in a vulnerable position. The legal system, at times, can be daunting and intimidating and knowing that I can provide a source of ease for someone who has to enter the legal system, made the path to becoming a lawyer all the more meaningful.
