Occupying the best of both worlds, Catherine is a litigator, with a focus on insurance defence, and a solicitor who guides clients through the estate planning process. Catherine has appeared as counsel before the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, representing clients in Chambers applications, trials, and mediations.
Before joining Brownlee, Catherine practiced wills and estates and family law with a reputable boutique law
firm in Edmonton, which provided her with invaluable experience in various other practice areas, including corporate law, tax law, criminal law, and immigration law, giving her a wide breadth of experience.
Catherine enjoys intellectual challenges presented by practicing law. At the same time, her experience has taught her that law is not simply abstract mental gymnastics; it is grounded in working and building relationships with others to solve complex problems that affect people’s lives.
