Adina joined the Municipal Department in 2009, and her current practice focuses on administrative law, assessment and taxation, and utilities regulation. Her experience as a former articling student at the Alberta Court of Appeal and Court of Queen’s Bench enhances her written advocacy skills and experience.
- Research: researching and preparing memoranda, legal opinions, and papers addressing specific points of law, or analyzing complex factual situations in the context of assessment and taxation, environmental, planning and development, and utilities regulation;
- Written advocacy: preparing written briefs and memoranda in support of administrative and court proceedings (including Court of Queen’s Bench and Court of Appeal);
- Litigation support: preparing written materials, research and analysis, as needed, in support of administrative and court proceedings.

I wanted a career which would make the most use of my analytical and writing skills, and which would constantly provide new challenges (be careful what you wish for!). Also, I am terrible at math and physics, which ruled out engineering. As the child of two engineers, I had to do something to redeem myself.
